“What a great company to work with. Our Insurance Adjuster missed several items and Peak Roofing Team worked with our insurance to get the additional items covered. They are very professional and the team worked quickly and was very thorough and cleaned up every day. I have recommended Peak Roofing Team to several friends.” Susan A. Black Forest
Peak Roofing Team specializes in Residential Re-Roofing and Repair. If your roof has experienced wind or hail damage we can walk you through the claims process and handle all the paperwork for you. We have completed thousands of Colorado Springs re-roofs and have the experience to tackle your project.
Your Project will begin when you call for your free roof inspection (719-359-0013) . We will set an appointment and meet with you promptly. When talking with your project estimator be sure to tell him of any existing conditions that concern you such as leaking etc. After we inspect your roof we will give you an overview and discuss your options. (Don’t worry, we will never over sell you. If your roof problems can be fixed with a simple repair, we will tell you.) If we feel that you should file an Insurance Claim for a re-roof we will provide you with all the information you will need to accomplish a successful claim and complete the paperwork for you. We work with all Insurance Companies and will represent you to ensure that you are treated fairly by your particular Insurance Carrier.
Pull Permit
If a re-roof is decided upon we will pull a roofing permit with the Regional Building Dept. We are Licensed and Insured and pull permits on all our jobs. This means that your new roof will be inspected by a Building Department inspector and checked for code. We will provide you with a copy of your permit as part of your warranty paperwork. Note: Never use a contractor that asks you to pull the permit. This probably means that he is not licensed or insured and your property could be at risk.
Delivery of Materials
You will be contacted with the delivery date of your materials and the expected start date of the project. In most cases your materials will be delivered to your roof top. If there is no access to your house, your shingles will have to be hand loaded.
Project Start-up
Before we start your re-roof, your crew chief will walk the perimeter of your house and cover up or remove items such as BBq’s, lawn furniture, AC units etc… as necessary to protect them from falling debrie.
Tear Off
Peak Roofing Team always tears off old shingles to the roof deck (not including roofing felt). This insures that your new roof will be covered by the Manufacture’s Warranty and reduces the weight and heat build up on your roof. In most cases, the majority of the used shingles will be dumped off in one location, usually over your garage into a waiting truck. We will place a large tarp over this area to protect your house. Please be sure to move cars out of the driveway on the day off your re-roof.
Underlayment
The installation of the underlayment and flashing is the most critical part of your re-roof. The underlayment serves as the actual moisture barrier on your roof. Peak Roofing Team goes the extra mile and installs Ice and Water Shield under all valleys and critical areas off your roof. ( Around sky-lites, chimneys, etc…) We also remove and install all new attic vents, pipe vent jacks and valley metal. Often the existing flashing and vents are plastic and subject to warping and cracking. We remove these inferior products and install metal vents and flashing. As an extra step we also install 2”x 2” metal painted drip edge on all eaves. This prevents water from getting behind your gutters or crawling up underneath your shingles and leaking into your soffits.
(See you project manager to point these items out to you on your roof.)
Shingle Application
Your shingles will be installed to meet or exceed the manufactures’ recommended number of nails and pattern. By exceeding the number of recommended nails the manufacturer’s wind warranty may increase up to 10 mph. We use 1 1\4″ to 1 1\2″ roofing nails not 3\4″ or 1 ”.
Clean Up
After we complete your roof we will clean the perimeter of your house and your gutters. A magnet will be passed over your property several times to collect loose nails.
Warranties
Every finished project comes with the following items.
- Building Permit
- Labor Warranty (transferable)
- Manufactures Warranty (Filled out for you and transferable in most cases)
- Lien Waiver (upon final payment).
Payment
Payment can be by check or credit card (MC or Visa) No money is required up front. We accept 1\2 when materials arrive on your roof and 1\2 when roof is completed.
Insurance Paperwork
If your re-roof was part of an Insurance Claim, we will bill the Insurance Company for you and notify them that the re-roof was completed. The Insurance Company will then release any remaining funds to you (Depreciation check).
